I am 16 and i want to lose weight get tone and be more healthy. but nothing seems to work. i have people tell me ideas all the time but i want t know of ideas and routunes that have actually worked. what worked for you, what your routine scedule of eating and exercise. i weight 142 pounds and i am 5'3. i want to look and feel better in clothes. also can i reach my goal befor this summer? i have 5 months. thanks in advance.

As soon as the weather breaks a little, I dial up the triathlon training to shed the winter weight. Weekly routine of 5 miles swimming, 200 miles cycling, 40 miles of running usually does the trick by June.

I am currently doing the P90X program, which is insanely difficult but the concept of it is perfect. I have lost weight with other methods too though, including just walking. You want to lose weight, so you need cardio to burn calories and fat. This can be anything you like, brisk walking, jogging, swimming, riding a bike, jumping rope, or even at home cardio DVD's. You also need to add in strength training for toning up, which again can be a bunch of things. Buy a good book on strength training, or do yoga, pilates, etc. or find a workout video that incorporates both (I will list good ones below). As for diet, don't be too strict, eat lots of fruits and veggies, don't gorge yourself on junk food, drink lots of water, eat whole grain bread, don't drink soda or other sugary beverages, and try not to eat after 8pm. Also always eat breakfast. You should be able to lose a fair bit of weight in 5 months, roughly 1-2 lbs a week, so around 20-40lbs or so. Here's some great videos at home: Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred (this has strength and cardio, it's all you need) Hip Hop Abs (mostly cardio but it tones you up quite well) Walk Away The Pounds (a little strength, mostly cardio, my mom lost 40lbs with this) P90X (challenging workout, mostly strength, some cardio, hard to stick with) Pilates for Dummies (super easy and quick workout for toning) Tae Bo DVD's (generally fun to do)

I combine diet and exercise. I choose healthy foods I like and replace unhealthy ones I eat in a day with them. Drink lots of water. Stay away from fat and sugar. Dont eat after 7pm. Eat 5 small meals in day, including snacks, not 3 big ones. Eat grilled and boiled foods, not fried and fastfoods. Here is my diet plan; Breakfast: Slices of tomatoes, a piece of cheese, 4 5 olives, 2 egg whites and green tea Snack: nuts or fruits Lunch: Salad Snack again Dinner: Grilled chicken, turkey or fish and boiled vegetables or salad You should exercise for best, fast and permanent results. You can exercise at home easily with a good program. And support it with walkings or runnings. There is a good program which includes exercises and eating plan. It is most recommended one.
